In Re Hawaiian and Guamanian Cabotage Antitrust Litigation
Pearson, Simon & Warshaw, LLP is currently involved in a class action
lawsuit which alleges violations of the federal antitrust laws with respect
to domestic ocean shipping services between the continental United States
and Hawaii and/or between the continental United States and Guam. The
defendants in the case are domestic ocean shipping carriers, or owners
of domestic ocean shipping carriers, that transport cargo between ports
in the United States and its territories and possessions. The action was
brought on behalf of all persons and entities in the United States, and
its territories and possessions, who purchased domestic ocean shipping
services directly from the defendants, and is currently pending in the
United States District Court for the Western District of Washington.
