Pearson, Simon & Warshaw LLP ("PS&W") is currently prosecuting
an antitrust class action against a number of leading manufacturers of
Transistor Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD). The manufacture and sale of
LCD technology is a multibillion dollar a year industry, and LCDs are
used in televisions, computer monitors, notebook computers, cellular phones,
automobile navigation systems, and other commonly used electronic devices.
The lawsuit alleges that Defendants - which include multinational electronics
conglomerates LG Philips, Samsung Electronics, Sharp Electronics, Toshiba
Corporation, and Panasonic Corporation - conspired to fix prices of LCD
prices in the United States. PS&W filed this lawsuit on behalf of
the direct purchasers of LCD products and it is currently pending the
Northern District of California.
On July 13, 2007, United States District Court Judge Susan Illston appointed
PS&W as interim co-lead counsel for all direct purchaser plaintiffs
in the coordinated antitrust class actions against the makers of LCD products.
